Ingredients
4 strips thick-cut bacon, sliced
1.5 lbs 80/20 ground beef
1 yellow onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
4 garlic cloves, minced
28 oz fire-roasted crushed tomatoes
1 can kidney beans
1 can black beans
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne
Beef broth as needed
Steps

Cook bacon in a large pot over medium heat until crispy, remove with slotted spoon2
Brown ground beef in bacon fat, drain excess3
Add onion and bell pepper to pot, sauté 5 minutes until soft4
Add garlic and all spices, cook 1 minute until fragrant5
Pour in fire-roasted tomatoes, stir in beef and bacon bits6
Add a splash of broth if too thick, bring to a simmer7
